Chianti Classico 2020 Borgo Salcetino
A well structured, well balanced wine with ripe cherry fruit and raspberries on the nose and a rich, savoury character on the palate. Smooth and velvety tannins follow with a good length.
The Borgo Salcetino is a prestigious Tuscan property purchased in 1996 by the well known, Friuli based, Livon family. The previous owners used the property as a holiday retreat and made wine there for friends and family. It is located in the countryside around Lucarelli in the municipality of Radda in Chianti, a region ideally suited to the cultivation of the Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes. The Livon brothers are applying the same philosophy of quality and respect for the terroir that has bought them so much such success in the Friuli to this small holding and the Estate produces exceptional full-bodied wines. This is a direct result of a stringent selection process in the vineyard followed by the use of ultra-modern winemaking techniques.
