Chemin de Garriu Blanc 2021, Cotes de Roussillon

This formidable Cotes du Roussillon white is cool-fermented to help accentuate the wine's enticing fruity freshness; a floral bouquet and a surprisingly complex flavour.

The vineyards of the Cotes du Roussillon are amongst some of France's most southerly (the majestic Pyrenees form an impressive backdrop) and the Rivesaltes cooperative, managed by the highly innovative Fernand Baixas, is one of the most forward-thinking in France, paying their 700 members purely on the quality of their grapes rather than on potential alcohol.

Baixas has mapped-out all the vineyards that he draws grapes from and has worked out quality-style-microclimate graphs to further increase quality. Interestingly enough this practice is also undertaken at Les Producteurs de Plaimont in Gascony, from whom we source other excellent wines.
