Description

"A juicy, medium-bodied Pomerol that shows excellent early appeal. Spiced red cherries, plums and berries with fine, polished tannins and a pure, extensive finish. Textured and well-balanced. Drink now." James Suckling - Tasted: Dec 2023

Merlot (96%) and Cabernet Franc (4%)

2021 - 13.5% abv

Château La Croix de Gay is one of the oldest family estates in Pomerol. Records show the Raynaud-Lebreton family first settling in Pomerol in 1422 and the estate has been at the heart of the region's wine industry since 1722. Although the volume of wine produced is quite small, the terroir is remarkable - 10 acres of vineyard nestled around the historic village with a unique combination of ancient gravel and pure blue clay, veined with red iron oxides and set on a north-facing slope.
