Description

This Chambolle-Musigny has an intense, rich and deep colour but has not been over-extracted as there is an alluring fresh black cherry fruitiness balanced with a fine acidity and delightful silkiness. Since the 2002 vintage, none of the wines have been filtered. .

A recent exploratory trip around the Cote de Nuits this Spring turned up this gem of a domaine, situated in the heart of the village of Chambolle. Joes Hudelot's son-in-law, Dominique le Guen (an ex-French air force engineer) took over the wine-making here about six years? ago and has lifted the estates reputation in to the first division in the past couple of years. They are strong believers in following an eco-friendly viticultural route and have been very successful in redeveloping the micro-organic structure of the soil. Working with sensibly low yields and meticulous attention to detail in the chais, has resulted in some superb wines.
