Description

EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY BUT A VERY SMALL QUANTITY

RELEASE DATE: Thursday 20th November 2025*

The run of small crops has continued with the 2025 vintage which started at Château de Vaux on 3rd September, ten days earlier than 2024.  This year, the quantity of wine produced was severely reduced by very low rainfall, a poor flower set in May, due to unusually cold weather and then (of course!) some hail damage later on in the season. However, the quality of the grapes was nothing short of sensational, picked in perfect conditions. The hot summer months can be seen in the dark-pigmented skins and the small berry-like grapes. These are wines that are full of saturated black and red fruit flavours, with floral bouquets and an underlying touch of spice. Hyper-concentrated but surprisingly supple and silky.
Although we picked relatively late (compared to some of our neighbours), the wines are low in alcohol, between 12.2˚ and 12.5˚ abv. As with all great vintages, they tasted delicious from the get-go, immediately after pressing; they will be a joy to drink.

2025 - 12.5% abv

NO ADDED SULPHITES

* This wine may not legally be opened for consumption before 00:01 on Thursday 20th November 2025. Orders which include Beaujolais Nouveau will be dispatched from our warehouse in the week commencing 17/11/25.
