Barolo San Carlo 2018, Luigi Dezzani
The colour is typically red garnet. On the nose there are aromas which are complex and elegant, ranging from ripe red fruit and spices to toasty and 'tar'. On the palate the flavour is gently tannic, austere, full and velvety.
There are 3 varieties of Nebbiolo - Michet, Lampia and Rose which grown in the Langhe area of Piedmont region and go to make up this elegant Barolo
The grapes are harvested manually in early October. There follows a forty day maceration of temperature controlled fermentation with a subsequent malolactic fermentation. The ageing process is completed by a twenty-four months in large oak barrels and a further twenty four months in bottle.
