Description

A rich and vibrant red made from Aglianico grapes cultivated on the volcanic soils of the Mount Vulture area in Basilicata. Deep in colour with ripe berry aromas and flavours and some intriguing earthy, spicy notes. Savoury in character with great minerality and a firm-structure which mellows beautifully with age.

2022 - 13.5% abv

Vulture is considered the cradle of one of Italy's oldest and most prestigious grape varieties, Aglianico. Situated in the North of Basilicata near the borders with Puglia and Campania, and dominated by its extinct volcano, this remote region is home to volcanic lakes and springs.

Established in 1924, Casa Vinicola D'Angelo has been widely recognised as a pillar of Basilicata's wine tradition. Spanning over four generations, the D'Angelo family history goes hand in hand with the success of Aglianico del Vulture DOC, which, aside from becoming a symbol of Basilicata, is increasingly being appreciated globally.
