Bergerac Rouge 2017 Chateau Vari

Nice and deep red colour with cherry tints. The aromas of strawberry, redcurrant and liquorice are harmoniously combined. Lightly spicy. On the palate, the attack is supple, the tanic structure is much present and already mellow. 

The vines of Chateau Vari were repurchased in 1994 by Yann Jestin, an oenologist, who immediately launched a reorganisation process of the vineyard in order to optimise the wine potentialities of the soil: progressive replanting with high density, increase in the leaf area, severe pruning of the vine, work in green, work of the ground. The estate covers 22 hectares, 20 hectares of which are currently in full production. Monbazillac AOC has an area of 13 hectares, including 6.5 hectares for the red vines, while half a hectare is intended for the production of dry white. The grounds are clayey, on limestone outcropping in some places, which gives much freshness to the wines.
