TASTING NOTE:
Intense ruby red in the glass. Generous bouquet of rich, ripe fruits with hints of blueberry jam. On the palate, flavours of ripe cherry and plums with a final unobtrusive note of vanilla. Smooth and mellow with a lingering finish.

FOOD MATCHES: rich pasta sauces, pork, game, lamb and aged cheeses.

ABOUT THE WINERY:
At the end of 19th century, Francesco Rocca started his historical business in 'draught' wine. In 1936 his son Angelo enhanced the wine production and built up a cellar in Nardò, Apulia. In the 1960's, Ernesto Rocca, Angelo's son, bought the first bottling line and started the distribution of products under the Rocca brand. In 1999, his great love of Apulia and its vines led him to buy a farm in Leverano, in the heart of Salento.

In 2009, Rocca Family became the major shareholder of the historical winery Dezzani in Piedmont realizing new commercial and production synergies.

The passion for ageing wines in oak barrels has been handed down through five generations of the Rocca family.
The delicate choice of worthy wines to refine in our winery, the patient waiting and choosing of the right moment to bottle has always been exciting.
