When we first started dealing with this impeccably run estate, the late Jean Mar‚chal was at the helm and was making wines that one could often describe as ?overtly traditional? and which took a long time to show their real colours. The arrival of Jean?s son-in-law, Jean-Marc Bovagne, in the late 1990?s saw a move towards more modern winemaking and the gradual introduction of the individual premiers crus on the labels. Up until then, all the premiers crus (which represent a little over 50% of the domaine?s holdings) were blended together and sold as ?Cuv‚e Prestige?.
