Talamonti

The Talamonti Winery nestles on a hillside half an hour from the coast, on the eastern side of Italy in the region of Abruzzo. The views are stunning. From the vineyard slopes you can see the high peaks of mountains in the distance surrounded by wispy clouds which in winter are covered with snow and the nearer hillsides are rippled with vineyards and olive orchards. The river that runs along the bottom of the winery provides moisture in winter keeping the dreaded frosts at bay.

The Talamonti Winery Tasting Room has the most amazing view over the vineyards and olive trees and it's hard to concentrate on the matter in hand, which is namely to taste their delicious wines.

Talmonti produce three white wines, 'Trebi Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, Pecorino 'Trabochetto' and 'Aternum, and three red wines 'Moda' Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, 'Tre Saggi' and Kudos.

Whilst the wines are exceptional, the local restaurants are also quite amazing. These are a few of the MANY dishes we sampled over our weekend.
