White Wines
Forma de Arte Chardonnay, Quinta do Casal Monteiro, Tejo, Portugal: from one of the most prestigious grape growing regions of Portugal, this is a soft and elegant Chardonnay bursting with aromatic fruitiness and freshness which lingers on the palate.
Vinho Verde 'Este, Ponta de Barca, Portugal; one of our favourites, this is a Poire William fruit filled wine with a slight 'sparkle' and at only 11% makes the perfect lunchtime wine.
Beret Blanc, Plaimont, South West France (new !); The name 'Beret Blanc' is a reference (tongue in cheek?) to the long tradition of beret wearing vignerons in this area, where fashion has a minimal influence! The wine is fresh and fruity with lovely aromatics and a zesty citrus finish. Delicious.
Red Wines
Pinot Noir Les Classiques Ardechois, Les Vignerons Ardechois, France; Good French Pinot Noir at a reasonably price is extremely hard to find. This is a fresh, ripe and red berry fruity red, soft and elegant on the palate with a splash of spice. Gorgeous.
Brouilly 'Creigne' 2022 Chateau de Vaux, Beaujolais, France; The 2022 Brouilly ‘Creigne’ is deep-coloured, fleshy and unctuous, with fine tannins and a distinctive black fruit overlay, finishing with a zippy, refreshing acidity. Made by Chris Piper and Yannick de Vermont.
Chateau La Passonne 2019, Cadillac, Bordeaux, France; A delicious Merlot dominated, modern-style 'claret' with an easy, ripe fruitiness, which makes it approachable and food friendly.
