Perfect with fruit-based desserts or rich pâté or even as a luxurious aperitif, these are wonderfully sweet wines from the Rhône Valley, though less widely known than its powerful reds, offer rich and characterful expressions of the region’s diversity. The most notable are the Vins Doux Naturels from the southern Rhône, especially Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise, made from Muscat à Petits Grains. These wines are aromatic and luscious, with notes of orange blossom, peach, and honey, balanced by fresh acidity.
