French Bordeaux Sweet Wines

These include some of the world's arguably best sweet wines from renowned appellations like Sauternes and Barsac, celebrated for their luxurious richness and complexity. Made primarily from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes affected by Botrytis cinerea (noble rot), these wines develop intense flavours of honey, apricot, marmalade, and exotic spices. The noble rot concentrates sugars and flavours while preserving acidity, resulting in a wine that’s both opulent and balanced. These golden-hued wines are often aged in oak, enhancing their depth and aging potential. Sweet Bordeaux wines are a classic pairing for foie gras, blue cheese, or fruit-based desserts, but they also shine sipped slowly on their own. Also newly available are bottles of Chateau d'Yquem 2005, a truly phenomenal wine.
