Pommard 2018, Domaine Paul Garaudet
The 2018 is a full, rich and complex Pommard with brooding spicy fruits and elegantly integrated oak.
Paul Garaudet took charge of this important 15-hectare domaine when he was only eighteen, following the sudden death of his father, Georges, and some of his superb wines are still labelled under his father's name, although this might well be for tax purposes! There can be no doubt that he had to learn the hard way and, now in his late-forties, he has carved himself out a reputation as one of the finest red and white wine-makers in the village of Monthelie, a sleepy village in a valley just to the west of Meursault.
Affectionately know as 'Le Grand Paul' by CPW his commitment to producing the very best from his vineyards is second to none.
