Château Tronquoy-Lalande 2009, St Estephe
The 2009 is a deep coloured claret with a wonderfully spicy nose and enticing palate of ripe raspberries and blackcurrants that lingers in the mouth long after tasting.
Four grape varieties are used in the Tronquoy-Lalande blend: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Each plays its role and enhances the other three by bringing roundness, density and persistence.
There are classically elegant tannins, spicy aromas and these scents of tobacco, resin, blackcurrant or liquorice which constitute the aromatic identity card of Château Tronquoy-Lalande and give it a distinct personality.
After blending, the wine is aged for one year in French oak barrels.
Château Tronquoy-Lalande in certain vintages offers wines of remarkable longevity.
