Dense nose of red fruits (cherry, blackcurrant) over a base of mint freshness. Subtle oaky notes.
Straightforward and lively attack!
Flavours of cherry and cocoa beans.
Smooth palate, mellower tannins, fine grain.
Balance and power.
Great persistence - to be kept.
Since the mid-1970's, this Taillan-owned property, currently managed by Celine Villars, has consistently produced inspiring, classed-growth quality wines. Always deep-coloured and seductively ripe, these are wines with powerful fruit flavours and plenty of complexity, much of which is largely due to the average age of the vines being over 35 years old. The wines are not filtered and they are currently aged in 50% new oak barrels.
65% Cabernet Sauvignon 30% Merlot 5% Petit Verdot
