Description

Domaine Roche Audran, Buisson ORGANIC & BIODYNAMIC

An expressive nose of yellow and exotic fruits. The mouth is full with a nice freshness on the finish, overtone of peach and citrus. Produced from Grenache blanc, Viognier, and also Clairette, it is vinified and aged one-third in oak barrels and two-thirds in stainless steel vats. (2022 - 13.5% ABV)

The stirring of the fine lees at the end of fermentation gives body and enhances the natural flavour.
Area, yield and age of the vineyard : 3 ha, 30 hl /ha (the very low yields contribute to the concentration and complexity of the wine.)
Vines are 20 to 30 years old.

Biodynamic cultivation : in order to give emphasis to respect for nature, the vineyards are maintained by regular tilling and using natural treatments, with no synthetic products, so maximising the full expression of the terroir.

The family vineyard is located on the north-facing slope of the Rasteau and Cairanne hillside, at an altitude of 180 to 250 metres, with north-east/north-west exposure.
The very complex soils are composed of clay and limestone earth covered by pebbles of marine and alluvial origin.
The natural vegetation of the area contributes to the aromatic complexity of the wines: Aleppo pine, white oak, viburnum, boxwood, rosemary, dogwood, thyme.

Decanter August 2017: 90/100. Gaining the same score as many Chateauneuf-du-Pape whites that were almost three times the price, this wine was praised for its "elegance and freshness"
