Seasonal Wines

There is absolutely no doubt that certain wine styles suit certain seasons and the moods that the changing weather patterns bring. Few of us want to drink full-bodied reds when the outside temperature is up in the 80s and a clean, delicate and refreshing rosé is a wine we more readily enjoy when the sun is beating down rather than on a cold, wet day in November.

It is generally recognised that some wines taste better when the barometric pressure is rising whereas others fair better when it is falling and if we are to enjoy wines at their best we should endeavour to consume them at a time which will show them at their best. The food combinations we chose to marry our wines to is of course of equal importance.
