Rioja Muga Prado Enea Gran Reserva
Ref: A079301
Bodegas Muga, Haro, Rioja Alta
The vineyards are located in the Oja and Tiró river valleys of La Rioja Alta but the winery is based on the outskirts of Haro, the historical home of Rioja's most prestigious bodegas. Bodegas Muga was created in 1932 and over the years Muga wines have gained international recognition and acclaim.
Meticulously faithful to their tradtional wine-making methods, Muga use the classic Rioja grape mix - Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano which are vinified in French and American oak vats before being aged in French and American oak casks. The wines therefore spend 48 months in oak followed by 3 years in the cellars before being released.
The result is a dark and brooding wine with intense aromas of leather, tobacco and spice. Although the Prado Enea is powerful and full bodied it remains incredibly delicate and seductive, with a harmonious fruit and subtle oakiness and a very long and distinctive finish.
