Sometimes it's good to go back to what you know. There is a time and place for discovering new things - like the Gruner Veltliner - and giving your taste buds a new and exciting experience, but sometimes it's good to drink those wines that you know can be relied upon any weekday night. Something that just hits the mark when all is quiet. Our Vin de Pays de Gascogne La Courtine is one of these wines. You can't go wrong and it never fails to make me think what a really good wine this is.
Vin de Pays de Gascogne, La Courtine, 2008, South West France
100% Colombard grape variety. Very pale, and crystal clear in the glass and with a lovely grapefruit and flint nose, this wine has very little residual sugar, but the fruit is so concentrated and ripe that the wine seems off dry, but with a lovely clean finish. (Only 11.5% Abv).
