Pinot Noir, Marions Vineyard - 2004 - Schubert Wines

Ripe, sweet blackberry and red cherry fruit with elegant tannins and perfectly balanced acidity.

Harvesting of the Pinot Noir in 2004 started on 30 April and was completed by 7 May 2004. All the grapes were hand-picked and 100% de-stemmed. Cold-maceration and fermentation took place in stainless steel vats and the juice was left on "skins" for 3 weeks. Aged in 30 % new and 70 % used French oak barriques for 15 months.

Gorgeously ripe and sweet aromas of blackberries and loganberries with some toasty notes, this ruby coloured wine has a medium to full body with a typical cherry filled pallet and a long lasting finish with some earthy-spicy characters and a good tannin structure. Drink at about 17°C. Only 643 cases of this wine were made.
