Chardonnay "Les Sarres" - 2004 - Jean Rijckaert

Jean Rijckaert (pronounced ray-cart) has a magnificent four hectare domaine in the Jura which lies about 50km to the east of Burgundy, in the foothills of the Jura Mountains. His vines are found around the villages of Arbois and Buvilly, in the north of the region and are on the same latitude as Chassagne and Puligny Montrachet.

The Chardonnay is grown on stony, clay-limestone soils and is hand picked before being pressed slowly and gently. Fermentation takes place in barrel.
