Sales (North Somerset, Bath & Bristol)
Growing up in 1980's Bristol my wine tastes didn't stretch far beyond Bulgarian Cabernet or perhaps for a really special occasion the very sophisticated Jacobs Creek. After my A levels I ran away to the warm embrace of South Africa, supposedly for a year off, but in reality I stayed for the best part of six years. A large amount of the time was spent in the hubbub of the restaurants and bars of the Mother City both in the kitchen and front of house. Time off was spent either on the beach or touring the local wine routes developing a passion for South Africa's re-emerging wine scene.
Upon my return to England I put in the almost compulsory seven year stint with Oddbins, managing stores on the champagne sodden streets of Notting Hill, Kensington and Fulham.
In 2002 I moved to the peaceful market town of Wells in Somerset where I still live with wife Sasha and two children and our Afrikaans Jack Russell Stompie.
For the last five years I have sold to the on-trade in Somerset and Bristol and have continually run up against satisfied customers of Christopher Piper who have refused to buy any wine from me. I feel that I have found a good home with CPW, a great selection of wines, local values and character and most of all a great bunch of people to work with.
