Hard-core Brunello! This is an immense wine when first opened with a sour cherry fruit and great intensity. There is superb grip and power with a concentrated flavour that just keeps expanding. It's black, vibrant and mouthwatering, impressively seamless for such a powerful wine.

Casanova di Neri is in the northeast corner of the region, but this wine grows at two newer vineyards to the south, Le Centine in Sant'Angelo and Pietrodonice in Castelnuovo dell'Abate, first vintage, 1993. These southern vines have created about as pure an expression of Brunello as you'll find.

Hand harvested from this single vineyard. the grapes were fermented and macerated for 22 days and then aged in French oak barrels for 30 months with a further 18 months bottle ageing.

Warm and ripe red with lots of blackberry and cedary oak character. Full-bodied and very thick, yet refined and silky. Should turn out fabulously. Another super wine from Casanova.
