Each grape variety is processed separately in small stainless tanks, to respect the different characteristics of each variety. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks after the alcoholic fermentation. The wine aged for 10 months in 2 - 4 year old barriques, previously used for Masseto and Ornellaia.

Le Volte is a selection of the best Mediterranean terroirs in Tuscany. The typical Tuscan grape variety of Sangiovese is combined with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The Mediterranean expression of Sangiovese gives the wine opulence and generosity, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grown in the region lend structure and complexity

Lodivico Antinori' Bolgheri reds from Tenuta dell'Ornellaia are beautifully sculpted, trend setting wines that have achieved widespread international acclaim. Le Volte is a young vine selection from the Ornellaia estate and like the main wine, contains generous dollops of Cabernet Sauvignon (15%) and Merlot (35%) with the dominant Sangiovese (50%) ingredient. Its depth and polish come from the Bordeaux varieties whilst its broad, brambly fruit is definitely a legacy of the Sangiovese.
