Reputed to be the best red wine produced in the whole of Puglia, this is primarily made from Negroamaro but with an undisclosed 'splash' of Malvasia Nero and Montepulciano thrown in for good measure. These grapes are grown on old fashioned bush vines, without any supporting wires, with the density of planting being the regulating factor in controlling the growth/fruit bearing of the vine.

The wine shows a bright ruby colour but, due to its age, it is now going light amber at the rim. Very intense and fragrant on the nose with an enormous burst of rich, dense flavours on the palate including roasted coffee beans, spicy tobacco leaf and fine, well integrated new oak.
