A well structured red with a opulent fruit and deep, welcoming flavours.

Xinomavro is northern Greece's most noble grape variety and produces a firm and opulent wine with plenty of body. Merlot lends the wine a deep colour and a velvety smoothness that combines perfectly with the Xinomavro. Although not a native of Greece, Merlot was first planted in 1980 and soon demonstrated excellent acclimitisation to the region and this Merlot/Xinomavro blend (in equal quantities) is the result of many years of experimentation by the Boutari family.

Aged for a minimum of a year in oak barrels and a further six months in bottle produces a wine of good structure and body with a ripe damsom like fruit and really good depth.
