
Vermentino is a native of Sardinia and Corsica where its ability to retain high acid levels during the heat of the summer is much appreciated as it avoids dull and flat wines. Also grown in Provence where it is known as 'Rolle' it also started making a name for itself in the Languedoc in the early nineties when it gained appellation contrôlée status
