A modern Australian crossing of Touriga and Sultana. Created to produce soft, fruity reds similar to some lighter Beaujolais in style.
Characteristics: Light in colour and body with very soft, ripe strawberry fruit flavours on the palate. Like Beaujolais better served at a cool cellar temperature to avoid the wines tasting jammy.
Where is it found? Australia, particularly Victoria.
Wines associated: Brown Brothers
Food matches: On its own or with grilled tuna, lamb, charcuterie and mild cheeses.
