Brunello is a clone of the Sangiovese that was discovered in the 19th century in Montalcino in Tuscany where it has been grown ever since. A very vigorous vine producing small bunches of thick skinned grapes that have a brownish tint.
Characteristics: Sangiovese in style but more flashy. Crisp, crunchy fruit with highish acidity.
