Réserve du Terroir
The formidable Réserve du Terroir Blanc (Côtes du Roussillon) is cool-fermented to help accentuate the wine’s enticing fruity freshness; this dry white has a floral bouquet and a surpisingly complex flavour, largely due to the use of a small amount of Malvoisie in the blend (90% Macabeo/10% Malvoisie).

The vineyards of the Côtes du Roussillon are amongst some of France’s most southerly (the majestic Pyrenees form an impressive backdrop) and the Rivesaltes cooperative, managed by the highly innovative Fernand Baixas, is one of the most forward-thinking in France, paying their 700 members purely on the quality of their grapes rather than on potential alcohol.

Baixas has mapped-out all the vineyards that he draws grapes from and has worked out quality-style-microclimate graphs to further increase quality. Interestingly enough this practice is also undertaken at Les Producteurs de Plaimont in Gascony, from whom we source other excellent wines.
