This 2006 is wonderfully rich and expressive being highly charged with rich and succulent raspberry fruit flavours.
It is hard to resist now but will drink quite happily for another couple of years.

The masterly Jacques Perrachon, ably assisted by his sons, is one of Beaujolais’ most fastidious wine-makers and the range of individual ‘lieu-dit’ sites owned by him and his sons produce wines with that little bit of extra ‘dimension’. Jacques obviously enjoys his work, even though he is, strictly speaking, retired. He has one of the most permanently engaging smiles - a cheerfulness and sense of humour he has passed onto the next generations. His hospitality and generosity are legendary and his wife's gougères (little morcels of cheesy choux pastry that appear towards the end of our tastings there) are to die for!
