Half-Bottles Châteauneuf-Du-Pape
Ref: A952205
2005 was a fantastic vintage in the Rhône prdocuing rich, deeply coloured wines bursting with spicey, damson/plum fruitiness.
When the Brunier family bought la Roquette in 1986, no one really realised the potential of this extraordinary 40-hectare estate. The domaine is made up from a number of fragmented parcels of very old vines - average age 45 years-old, situated in three distinctive zones on the rocky plateau to the north of the town of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Our long-standing partnership with Daniel and Frédéric Brunier has proved extremely fruitful as this is an estate that has leap-frogged into the top division in the past five years or so. Since 1994, none of the reds have been filtered or fined and the 2001 - a blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre is voluptuously textured and is very rich with a domination of blackberry fruit and a more floral bouquet than one often associates with this property.
