L'Accent is a special cuvée from Domaine La Roquète, first made in 2004. The idea is to showcase a superb terroir, the Plateau du Pielong, via very old Grenache vines.

L'Accent 2004 comprises 90% old Grenache plus equal 10% of Mourvèdre from the lieu-dit Pignan.
The intention is to turn the spotlight on this bit of land at the heart of the AOC area, and on a totally traditional method of vinification and ageing, as well as on the grape variety dubbed the "King of the Southern Rhône Valley". The wine will only be made in years when the elements permit which by luck includes the two following great vintages of 2005 and 2006.

With traditional vinification and ageing the resultant wine receives a period of vatting that can last three weeks or more; final blending at one year, and transfer into 30hl foudres; then, only after one year in these barrels, i.e. after two full years of ageing, is the wine bottled, unfined and unfiltered.

Four thousand 75cl bottles of L'Accent 2004 were produced and the wines was released in September 2006.

This wine will drink well for 15 or more years.
