Vin de Pays des Côteaux de l'Ardèche

A soft, rounded and fruity red from long established vineyards in the foothills between the Ardèche and La Baume rivers. Deep coloured with a bouquet of ripe cherry fruit, this is a very approachable wine with the emphasis on ripeness and "crunchy" fruit with excellent balance.

Les Vignerons Ardèchois is a ‘union’ of twenty small cooperatives with its headquarters in the town of Ruoms, situated on the river Ardèche, in the foothills of the Cevennes mountains, about 70km. east-south-east of Montelimar. Always an excellent source for red wines, the Vignerons Ardèchois are now making some quite delicious whites.

Luc Tallaron, their dynamic wine-maker has made a lovely red (60% Merlot 40%Grenache Noir) which is vinified in separately- whole bunch classic fermentation for the Merlot, whilst the Grenache undergoes "thermo-vinification" to extract ripe fruit and deep colours whilst avoiding the extraction of dry tannins.
