Bernard Bouvier is the 4th generation of his family to take the reins at this impressive 17 hectare estate in Gevrey Chambertin and Marsannay. He believes that great wines are born in the vineyard and as such uses no fertilisers or herbicides, preferring to work with nature using a 'lutte or culture raisonnée' - attracting a pests' preditors to the vineyard rather than resorting to chemicals.

Yields are kept down to about 30 hectolitres per hectare and fermentation for the red involves a long, cold maceration follwoed by maturation in oak, about a third of which is new. No fining or filtration is used.

The results are amazing. Rich, concentrated and generously flavoured with an intense fruit and well balanced tannins.
