Fresh, lively and amazingly pure with a firm fruit and great character.

We are delighted to work with this superb 12 hectare estate based in the heart of Meursault and now run by the extraordinarily talented 26 year old, Charles Ballot.

The Ballot and Millot families began acquiring vineyards in Meursault in the mid 17th centuary. When Charles's parents married they brought together some exceptional holdings. The ages of the vines for Les Criots is from 20 years old and an extremely stringent form of 'la lutte raisonée' (using only the absolute minimum of chemicals) in the vineyards, with no herbicides and minimal use of other treatments. The wine is barrel fermented with around 25% new oak used each year.
