1er Cru Classé Sauternes

The nose offers distinction with candied fruit aromas, honey, smoky, citrus, acacia, floral. The palate is very complex with citrus aromas. The wine is fat, full, and mellow, with a full acidity. Definitely a wine which will age for another 10 to 15 years.

This is one of the largest estates in Sauternes. With a surface area of 128ha, Château Guiraud is situated entirely in the commune of Sauternes of which 100ha are currently under production divided as follows: 85 ha for Sauternes and 15ha for dry white Bordeaux. The average yield is 12hl/ha. The maximum yield permitted for the Sauternes appellation is 25hl/ha. A minimum potential of 20% alcohol is required to start the harvest.

In spite of an usually high proportion of Sauvignon, Guiraud manages to achieve great richness and fullness of body.
