Another great wine from this vintage. very deep coloured with notes of vanilla, coconut, peaches and pears with creme caramel . Very rich and sweet, it is surprisingly open and is already beginning to drink. The vintage has a deep straw-yellow color, with a complex and aromatic bouquet, recalling sweet fruit and honey aromas. It has an ample and balanced palate with a delicious finish. There is finely tuned acidity though, to reward the patience of those who would prefer to wait up to another 10 years.

For several generations, Château Rieussec has been a leading name in Sauternes wines. As early as 1868, Charles Cocks remarked that “Beyond any of the others, Rieussec produces wines that are very similar to Yquem wines”.

Owned by the Barons de Rothschild of Château Lafite the château is next door to the hallowed ground of Yquem.

Rieussec's style is always one of intense power with an almost roasted richness on the palate. It produces very deeply coloured wines with great viscosity.
