4eme Cru Classé St. Julien

This was the first vintage we bought from this property and we have since also bought their 2005. the 85% Cabernet base, many of which are 80 year old vines, has certainly contributed to the wines beautiful ripeness and almost sweet cassis fruit. This flavour combines with a dark opaque colour and a balanced, lingering finish. The tannins are hyper-ripe. Something of a msterpiece! Drink 2009 - 2022.

Saint Pierre is one of the oldest in the Médoc. It was placed first in the original 1855 classification of 4th growths alongisde names like Talbot and Branaire-Ducru. Henry Martin, who achieved the same for Château Gloria, brought new life to the estate during the 1980s.
