Owned by François-Xavier Borie of Ducru-Beaucaillou, this is an eighteen hectare property situated in St. Julien Beychevelle which has always had an excellent reputation for making relatively big, structured wines which can be approachable when young but develop into very attractive, graceful clarets with some bottle age. Lalande-Borie was created from land bought by the Bories from the troisième cru Château Lagrange in 1970. Considering their terroir and pedigree, these are wines that offer outstanding value for money. Muscular and powerful with a firm fruit and softening tannins.
