La Dame De Montrose - 2000 - Château Montrose

This is the second wine of Château Montrose and a worthy associate of the Grand Vin. The 2000 came from 39% of the production. It is intense and juicy with a rich overlaying blackcurrant fruitiness. Packed full of chocolatey Merlot character. Drink 2006 to 2013.

Château Montrose has, since the 1990 vintage, ranked alongside Cos d'Estournel as one of St. Estèphe's great wines. Owned by Jean-Louis Charmolüe this modest château commands a fine view over the river Gironde.
