Jean-Claude Aubert continues a line of sensual and exotic wines with plenty of new oak treatment. His 2003 has a superb concentration of fleshy black cherry fruit with acidity and tannin levels that are perfectly in balance. Very much one of our favourite St. Emilions in the 2003 vintage. Drink 2009 to 2020.

The vines of this 7 hectare estate border Trottevieille and Soutard and are completely enclosed by a wall. The château lies on the Côte of St. Emilion and is one of the oldest estates in the commune. The château has huge underground cellars. They produce a second wine which is, somewhat internationally, labelled 'Junior de la Couspaude'.
