From the hyper-ripe and hyper-hot year of 2003 comes this very soft and fleshy Pomerol which is bursting with black cherry soft fruitiness. Drinking extremely well now this will continue to mature happily until 2009. Winner of the Gold Medal at the Paris Wine Show in 2005.

From a 19 hectare site (gravel to deep clay) with average vine age of 40 years. 20 days maceration - 80% of wine aged in French oak barrels (1/3 new oak, 2/3 used). 80,000 bottles produced. Mild, wet winter followed by rapid flowering and good conditions for veraison. Very sunny August & September with perfect harvest conditions, commencing on 18/09.

The new generation that is now in charge at this splendid 32 hectare (total incl l'Ancien) property has managed to elevate Château Garraud into star-status in a comparatively short space of time. The vineyards are situated in the prime zone of Néac, where all the region’s most respected châteaux are to be found. The dynamic Jean-Marc Nony is employing Michel Rolland as consultant oenologist and minute attention to detail has resulted in a run of vintages which are nothing short of spectacular.
