Winemaker Vincent Priou made an exceptionally fine 2003 that really stood out amongst its peers. 2003 marked a distinctly challenging vintage for Pomerol in particular due to its higher preponderance of sand in the soil make-up. Beauregard's soil, whilst being sandy gravel in parts also possesses a subsoil of clay and iron-pan, called crasse de fer, and this soil structure was able to retain more water than many other properties. A factor which was obviously of great importance in this extraordinarily hot year. Their 2003 is endowed with a wonderful sweet ripeness, a black cherry nose and a dense, purple colour with plenty of structure. Drink 2007 to 2018.

The château is built on the site of an old Knights Templar manor house. An american architect was so taken with the design that he built an exact copy of it for the Guggenheims on Long Island in the U.S.A. The vineyards extend to 16 hectares. These are soft. delicate yet generous reds.
