5eme Cru Classé Pauillac

The 2004 is a classic Pauillac with notes of pencil-lead, tobacco and mulberry fruit. With good balancing acidity and fine-grained tannins this will be a good keeper. Drink 2014 to 2023.

The estate derrives its name from a memebr of the Bordeaux Parliament, Monsieur Lacoste, who owned the château during the 16th century. The words Grand-Puy, which means a large knoll, refer to the elevation upon which the vineyards sit. These are deep-coloured wines rich in cedarwood and cigar-box character - perfect illustrations of the best Pauillac terroirs.
