5eme Cru Classé Pauillac

An absolutely classic Lynch-Bages which is super rich and silky with ripe, sweet fruit and clearly defined tannins ensuring excellent ageing potential. Cassis and cedarwood are the dominant notes on the palate whilst the finish is astonishingly long. A very fine, age worthy Pauillac. Drink 2010 and 2030.

Owned now by Jean Michel Cazes the château was originally owned by the Lynch family who were descendants of John Lynch, a young Irishman from Galway who fled Ireland in 1691. The estate's second wine is called Haut Bages Averous and they also produce a small amount of white. The soil at Lynch-Bages is gravel with a sub soil of marl and chalk - classic Pauillac soil structure resulting in wines of intense depth and structure.
