Pauillac (Second wine of Château Pichon Longuéville Comtesse de Lalande)

Silky and rounded with a warm fruit and hints of spice. Réserve de la Comtesse is the second wine of the château and mirrors the 'grand vin' admirably being silky and rounded woth a warm fruit and alluring hints of spice, cedar, fine and integrated tanin and a creamy toasty oak.

In 1818 Marie-Laure de Pichon de Longueville married Comte Henri de Lalande bring with her land from the Pichon estate as a dowry and this is where the couple built their house. The Pichon estate was divided up about ten years later and their property, Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lanande, started making their own wine in their own right. The estate hit the doldrums during the 20th century until it passed into the capable hands off May-Eliane Lencquesaing in 1978. She set about changing things, building a new chai after enlarging the existing one, constructing and state-of-the-art winery, building new accomodation for her employees and totally renovating the magnifiscent château and its park.
