This is a château we have been watching carefully for the past five or so years and in recent vintages it has achieved widespread acclaim for profiundly flavoured and textured wines. The 2003 is a very fine wine of which Jean-Marc Landuneau, the owner, can be justly proud. It is very concetrated with great balance. The depth and ripe tannins will ensure this will develop well over the next 10 years or so. Drink 2008 to 2015.

The high quality vineyards of Château d'Escurac lie on one of the highest crests in the Medoc, overlooking the whole area, and the estate has recently been equipped with the finest possible winery and barrel store. The character of the soil shows a high proportion of deep gravel, planted to the main Medoc grapes and cultivated using the best techniques. Under the watchful eye of the Landureau family the most up-to-date winemaking techniques and traditional barrel ageing produce wines with finesse, bouquet and distinction.
